Document 1/54/248 (RMS, i, App. 1, no. 138)
- Description
- David, king of Scots, noting that he revoked all donations and concessions made before his parliament held at Scone on 6 Nov., regnal year 28 (1357), has approved, ratified, and confirmed to John of Petyllock brother of the late William of Petylack knight, all the lands and holdings that belonged to Roger Pingle his enemy, in the sheriffdoms of Berwick and Roxburgh, which came to the king due to the forfeiture of Roger, and which he granted hereditarily to the late William of Pettylock by his charters; to be held by John and his heirs in perpetuity in feu and heritage, as his charter to William attests, saving the king's service, notwithstanding his revocation, or the grant that he made unconsulted to William de Colvele, which the king revokes and from cause, and which he wills not to be valid.
