David, king of Scots, to his chamberlain John of Roxburgh, noting that he has discovered through the inspection of certain charters of Lord Robert, his father, late king of Scotland, and his predecessors the kings of Scots, that the church of Glasgow and the successors of Blessed Kentigern are and were in possession of annual proceeds at the two terminals by equal measure from the burgh ferme of Rutherglen (LAN), 40s for the lighting of that church, 100s to support a chaplain, and six marks to support a deacon and subdeacon, and from his fermes of the land of Cadzow (LAN) in order to complement the support for the deacon and subdeacon four marks of which sums remain five pounds 16s. 8d. not paid of the stipend of the chaplain, deacon and subdeacon from the last Martinmas. The king commands him to pay £5 16s 8d. from out of the first denarii of his first rents.
