Handbook of British Chronology, 502: Fergus was the son or brother of Roger, grandson of Gartnach or perhaps son of Eve, Gartnach's daughter, and her husband, Colban. Fergus is styled earl of Buchan 1187×99 and died before 25 February 1214. His heir was his daughter, Marjory (or Margaret), who married William Comyn (d.1233), who inherited the title of earl of Buchan.
