William of Parma, master, papal chaplain and auditor contradictarum

Biography
Ferguson, Medieval Papal Reps., 124, 299-301: William of Parma appears as an auditor litterarum contradictarum and papal chaplain in September 1249. His role as auditor meant that he was employed as a procurator at the papal curia to raise protests against some mandates or privileges which might be injurious to his employer, in this case, the prior and chapter of St Andrews.
