Benedict VII, pope (d.983)

Biography
Kelly, Oxford Dictionary of Popes, 131-32: Benedict VII was the son of David, kinsman of Prince Alberic II of Rome (d.954), and also connected with the Crescentii family. He was bishop of Sutri when he succeeded Benedict VI as pope in October 974. He died on 10 July 983 and was buried in Sta Croce in Gerusalemme.
