Watt, Graduates, 387: John is styled Master when witnessing acts of Bishop William Malveisin, c.1235x8; he is presumably the same as Master J. de Meuland who occurs under the next bishop, David of Bernham. He also appears in the Durham Liber Vitae (fo.57v). He probably belonged to a family who took their name from Meulan (Seine-et-Oise, France). Cf. John of St Andrews, John Blund and John rector of Stirling.
