Matilda, sister of Robert I, king of Scots (d. 1323)

Biography
Matilda (Maud) was the daughter of Robert de Bruce, lord of Annandale (d.1304) and Marjory, countess of Carrick (d. c.1290). She was married before 1323 to Hugh, earl of Ross. The couple received several grants of northern lands and lordships from Matilda’s father during the 1320s. Matilda died some time before 24 November 1329. The couple had two sons, William (who succeeded as earl of Ross after his father’ death at Halidon Hill in 1333) and John, and a daughter, Marjory, who married Malise, earl of Strathearn.
