John Soulis, knight (d. 1318)
- Biography
- Sir John was the second son of Nicholas de Soulis, lord of Liddesdale (d.c.1296) and Margaret, daughter of Alexander Comyn, earl of Buchan. Reconciled to the Bruce regime in November 1314 after returning from French exile, Soulis became part of the expeditionary force under the command of Edward Bruce that invaded Ireland in 1315. On 14 October 1318 he was killed alongside Edward at the battle of Fochart near Dundalk. He had no known heirs.
