eldest son of William de Vescy (d.1253), married Isabella de Beaumont as his second wife, but had no children and his estates passed to his younger brother William (d.1297). Isabella was the cousin of Edward I's first wife, Eleanor of Castile. His first marriage was to Agnes, sister of the countess of Lincoln and daughter of Manfred, marquess of Saluzzo. Grandson of Eustace de Vescy (d.1216); John died at Montpellier in Gascony in 1289 and was buried at Alnwick Abbey. His heart was interred at Blackfriars in London.
