Alan, abbot of Newbattle (fl.1213-14)

Biography: Watt and Shead, Heads, 159: Alan was a sub-prior of Melrose when he succeeded as abbot of Newbattle in 1213. He occurs on 21 April, prob. 1213 and resigned on 25 May 1214. He returned to Melrose.
