Counterseal of Eustace de Vescy (d.1216) from an antique gem matrix. The seal depicts an antelope or goat between four pods of vetches; the outline of the gem’s metal rim and the mark of its handle are visible. According to Stevenson and Wood, the seal is ‘of oriental workmanship’.
