Image description (obverse)
The obverse shows the king sat on a bench-shaped throne ornamented with two *quatrefoil* panels enclosing lion faces. He wears a tunic and ermine-lined cloak; both of his arms are extended, and he holds a grooved sword in his right hand and, it seems, an orb in his left.
Image description (reverse)
The reverse shows the king on horseback to *sinister*, wearing chain mail with a surcoat, holding a sword in his right hand. The shield suspended from his should bears arms of a lion *rampant* within a royal *tressure*, which consists of a *double tressure flory counter flory*. The horse has a bridle and a high saddle, as well as (for the first time), *caparisons* over fore and hind quarters and the tail, and bearing the royal arms within the royal tressure.
