- Appearance of Walter Comyn and Robert, chaplain of the king, in the charter record × election of Robert the chaplain to the bishopric of Ross; probably by the time William Comyn succeeded to earldom of Buchan. Walter Comyn witnessed royal charters on 19 Jan. 1213 (RRS ii, no. 511), 25 Feb. 1213 (RRS ii, no. 513), 28 Feb. 1213 (RRS ii, no. 514), and 16 May, 1212×14 (_RRS_ ii, no. 521). He was also present at the royal court on the earldom of Menteith, 6 Dec. 1213 at Edinburgh (Fraser, _Menteith_, no. 7). There was also a Walter Comyn, king’s clerk, in 1225 (_Moray Reg._, C.O., no. 6).
