According to C. Neville, this charter dates to the period when Brice of Dunning was steward of the earldom. Neville, Thesis, Chapter 4, p. 175. Apparently after 3/21/32, 3/21/33, 3/21/34, as Henry son of Tristram, who witnessed the above charters, seems to have been dead by this point. See <em>Inchaff. Chrs.</em>, 279. Note that Master Christian, the brother of Gilbert, archdeacon of Dunblane, does not witness.
