Description
Adam of Dowane, junior, has resigned, quitclaimed, and by rod and staff, returned, in the full court held by the abbot of Kelso at Lesmahagow, all his land of Dowane (LAN), with all its pertinents, which he held from the abbot and convent by hereditary right, in exchange for ‘Hauhitiferdale’ (in Lesmahagow, LAN) which the monks gave and granted to him and heirs on the same day and place. If it happens that he or his heirs or his assignees or anyone by their name, by their administration or approval, oblige to make good on or to come against this resignation, quitclaim and return in anyway, they will pay a penalty.
