- Walter of Soutra, burgess of Berwick, has given, granted, and by this his present charter established to Soutra Hospital a certain part of his land which he took at feuferme from William of Chirnside and Alice of ‘By’, his wife, with all its buildings and pertinents, and the bounds which lie between the late John Frowe and the late Robert of ‘By’, now the land of Robert Frowe, on one side, and the land of William of Chirnside on the other, in free, pure and perpetual alms, with free entry and exit.
