Description
John of Morham son of John Malherbe has granted and by this his charter established to Newbattle Abbey the bounds which were made in the presence of himself and Malcolm Lockhart, father of his spouse, and Gilbert of Fauside and certain brothers of Newbattle and other good men, between John’s land of Morham (ELO) and the land of ‘Cressewelle’ (Monkrigg, Haddington ph., ELO) , which they have by gift of Hugh Giffard in the parish of Haddington, by stated bounds, free and quit from all service and exaction and secular custom.
