Description
King William to John Waleram; has given whole land which William Carpenter held in 'Ballebotl' (Babbet, FIF?), that is, every fith rig of whole half of 'Ballebotlia'; and in fields of 'Dreinin' (Drony, FIF?) the land which was perambulated for Roger de Camera on orders of Countess Ada, by Hugh Giffard, Alexander de St Martin, Godfrey, the marischal, Winemar and other responsible men; in addition all land in Airdrie (FIF) held by William de Beauver; and all land perambulated for William Carpenter on all sides towards moor (Kingsmuir, FIF) and elsewhere by Geoffrey de Maleville, Hugh Giffard, Godfrey, the marischal, Winemar and other responsible men, with common pasture of Crail (FIF) and one toft in Crail, which Countess Ada gave to William Carpenter, to be held for service of one sergeand on a horse with a haubergel, and performance of as much forinsec service as pertains to half a Scottish ploughgate in Crailshire. John Walteram is to be free of multure at the mill.
