Description: John son of John of London, for the souls of his lord, his brother Ness of London, and others, has given, granted, and by this his present charter established to Newbattle Abbey five acres of land of his land which his brother Sir Ness of London gave him in the parish of (East) Linton (ELO), in pure and perpetual alms, by stated bounds, free of all exaction, secular service, and all secular custom.
