Description
John son of Michael, by the assent and will of Michael, his heir, gave, granted and by this his charter established to May Priory, for the soul of himself and the souls of his father and his mother and his brother, Duncan, and his wife and his heirs, ancestors and successors, in free, pure and perpetual alms, the whole land on the southern part of ‘Caleburne’ (Penshiel, ELO), by stated bounds, with one acre of meadow and with pasture that may be sufficient for the sustenance of 300 mother sheep, 30 haulage cows and 24 haulage horses with the chattels and with certain other specified restrictions. John and his heir will warrant and acquit the aforesaid monks from all cultivation and expedition and all service, exaction and multure in perpetuity.
