Description
Laurence Fraser has granted and by this his charter established to Newbattle Abbey that land in the territory of North Hailes (ELO) called ‘Mylnehalc’, which Mary of Hailes first conferred on them in her widowhood, and which afterwards Bernard Fraser conferred on them with the land of ‘Milnehalech’ and certain other lands of the same Mary which he acquired by legal action [euicisset] in the court of Earl Patrick [of Dunbar].
