Description
Ralph de Vere has given, granted and by this present charter established to Kelso Abbey one oxgang of land in the territory of Sprouston (ROX) to be held from him and his heirs in free and perpetual alms, namely the land which lies near the land which he gave to Umfrid, his man. He gave this land to them for the salvation of his lord, William, king of Scotland, and for the salvation of his soul and for the souls of all his ancestors and successors, free and quit from every service, custom and exaction.
