Document 4/39/1 (Glas. Reg., no. 104)
- Description
- These are the right boundaries between Stobo and Happrew and ‘Orde’ (Kirkurd) (all PEB): from the falls of the burn of ‘Polternam’ (Clayhouse Burn?) where it falls into the Tweed as far as the head of the same burn, and from there as the brow of the hill extends between ‘Glenmanthav’ and ‘Glenmerlahv’ (perhaps related to Penveny and Penvalla) until in ‘Whiteshopes’ and from there by the brow of the hill as far as ‘Ordeshope’ (Ladyurd Hill?), and from there by the brow of the hill until the head of ‘Poltenstobbeh’ (Stobo Hopehead?), and from there by the brow of the hill until ‘Glemubfuirles’, and by the brow of the hill between ‘Glemubfuirles’, until the burn of ‘Glenkeht’ (Muir Burn or Broughton Burn?), and descending as that burn flows into the Biggar Water.
