Description
William de Vieuxpont, first of the sons of William de Vieuxpont, which he had with Lady Emma of St Hillary, by the consent of his wife, his given, granted and by this his present charter established to Kelso Abbey, the church of Langton (BWK) with the land, teinds and other ecclesiastical rights pertaining to it, just as his father before him made, with the land which his father assigned to the same church, by its boundaries. Additionally, he assigned and added to the land of the church so that it may total one ploughgate, and he wants Kelso to hold and possess the church and the land, in free, pure and perpetual alms, following an assize of the bishop, for the salvation of his lords, King William, Queen [Ermengarde] and their son, Alexander, and the rest of their children, and for the salvation of himself, his wife and his heirs, and for the souls of King David, King Malcolm and Earl Henry, and for the souls of his father, his mother and all of his ancestors and successors.
