Description
An agreement between (i) the convent of St Andrews Priory and (ii) William Giffard. The canons will hold the land of Pitpointie (ANG) with its right bounds, as the same William Giffard perambulated with responsible men and with Gilbert and Hugh, canons of St Andrews, and with Uhtred his steward, free and quit from all service and secular exaction. The canons may have the institution and free administration of the church of Tealing, as well as the free authority to dispose of the same church. Moreover, William will give three marks every year to his father’s kitchen, and will clothe them in canons’ habits, and William will provide four men to serve them and the canons will be victualled with the lord’s household.
