Description
An agreement between (i) Gilbert the prior, and the convent of St Andrews, and (ii) Bernard Fraser of Drem. Bernard and his heirs shall have a chapel at Drem (ELO) and shall give the canons in the same villa one half ploughgate of land at Harcarse (BWK), one oxgang at the farm-acres, another oxgang at ‘Scortrig’, a third at ‘Mordiches’, and a fourth, with a toft and croft which Octer the carpenter held. The chaplain who will serve the chapel shall have in common pasture 8 oxen and 4 cows and 2 horses and 60 wethers, and should he want more animals, he can keep them with those of the men of the villa at ‘Scales’. Bernard will have this chapel free and quit, saving all the teinds, oblations and obventions to the mother church of Haddington (ELO).
