Document 2/143/119 (Dunf. Reg., no. 288)

Description
Pope Innocent IV writes to the abbot and convent of Dunfermline noting that although their church, after its consecration, had been augmented through the building of a noble fabric, the abbot proposes that the old walls should endure their original condition. The pope thus indulges to him that no one may challenge the abbot concerning this, on account of the church being consecrated a second time.
