Document 2/143/101 (Newb. Reg., no. 233)

Description
Pope Innocent IV writes to the abbots, co-abbots and convents of the Cistercian order, noting that it was proposed before him that no one was permitted, by a papal indult, to promulgate sentences of excommunication or interdict against them, their households, servants and benefactors and those who grind at their mills or cook in their bakeries, and those selling or buying. The pope thus prohibits anyone from presuming to promulgate sentences of this kind against them.
