- Abbot Simon of Dunfermline for Duncan of Crambeth; has granted donation which Sir Alexander of Blair, knight, made of land of 'Balbaird' (Newburn, FIF), which Hugh, son of Leving, held; in addition 13 acres nearest to land on east by stated bounds; also a house in Upper Newburn beside great road which goes towards St Andrews on west, with toft and croft of an acre and with common pasture, for his homage and service, in feu and heritage saving to Alexander wardship and relief, and saving to abbey homage of Alexander and his heirs. Alexander shall warrant, discharge and defend lands against all men and women
