Description
King David gives notice that Robert bishop of St Andrews declared that he claimed no custom and nothing in law against the church of Coldingham, but willed and granted that the church of Coldingham should be free from all custom and service, saving episcopal obedience. The King therefore wills and firmly instructs that the church of Coldingham, his own charitable foundation (mea elemosina) should remain free and quit of all custom and service.
