Document 2/58/2 (Cold. Cart., no. 34)

Description
Walter, chaplain, has given, granted and by his charter established to Coldstream Priory one toft and croft within the villa of Darnchester (BWK) from the east of the road called ‘Cakewellegat’, to make a pittance to the nuns on the morrow of St Laurence the martyr, in free, pure and perpetual alms with common pasture in the villa of Darnchester and all other common easements within and outwith the villa. He has also given, by the consent and wish of Walter, son of Siward, his father, 1½ acres of land lying above ‘Coteflatte’ from the east of the land, ‘ad frece’, in pure and perpetual alms. Walter warrants and defends the land so that his donation, grant and confirmation by charter is ratified.
