Renier, abbot of Melrose (fl.1174-94)

Biography
Watt and Shead, Heads, 131, 150: Rayner (or Renier) was a monk of Melrose who was elected abbot of Kinloss after the death of Ascelin in March 1174. He occurs in this office on 18 February 1175 and continued there until he was elected abbot of Melrose on 23 March 1189. He resigned the Melrose abbacy on 17 September 1194.
