Archibald Douglas (early 13C)

Biography
Archibald of Douglas was the son of William of Douglas, the earliest known member of the family who appears in the last quarter of the twelfth century. He had perhaps six brothers, Brice, later bishop of Moray (d.1222), Henry of Douglas, Freskin, parson of Douglas and later dean of Moray, and three others who were canons of Moray chapter. Archibald had two sons, William (d.c.1270-74) and Andrew. Descendants of the latter would come to represent the Douglases of Lothian or Dalkeith. In A.A.M.
