Ingram, bishop of Glasgow (d.1174)

Biography
Watt and Murray, Fasti, 188, 221: Ingram was not yet archdeacon of Glasgow (also called archdeacon of Teviotdale) when he appears 1157×62, though he occurs on 6 January 1161×24 January 1162 in that office. He was archdeacon and also royal chancellor when he was elected as bishop, probably on 13 September 1164, and was ordained priest six days later. He went to the papal court at Sens, France, on 28 October / 1 November of that year. He died on 2 February 1174. From ODNB: Ingram was of unknown origins, and had two brothers, Simon and William. He was a clerk and chancellor of Earl Henry (d.1152); He was also a clerk of Malcolm IV (d.1165), and was appointed chancellor again in 1161-2. He ceased to be chancellor after his consecration in October 1164. http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/14387
