Single-sided eal of William Comyn, earl of Buchan, used after his marriage to Marjory of Buchan in 1212, and in conjunction with the earl’s counterseal. The seal depicts the earl on horseback to *dexter* with a flat helmet and a large heart-shaped shield. The shield bears arms of a *garb*, which is repeated on the *caparisons* of his horse.
